We know how difficult it is to leave your beloved pet behind when traveling and our pet friendly accommodations in Vancouver, BC welcome all members of your family, whether it is your dog, cat or even your bird.
Ideally situated in the heart of Vancouver’s West End the BEST WESTERN PLUS Sands Hotel is perfectly situated for those early morning walks with Fido. With English Bay, “Pet Friendly Beaches” and Stanley Park within steps of our hotel, you will have endless opportunities to explore the best Vancouver has to offer with your “Best Friend”.
Forgot something for your pet? No need to worry, our hotel is a few blocks away from The Picky Pet natural pet supplies store, where you can find everything you need for your “Best Friend.”
Your pets are also our guests and we ask upon check in that you register your pet with our front desk.
Following are the facilities that we offer to our pet owner guests:
- Designated “Pet Friendly” rooms and suites (we are 100% non-smoking)
- Special pet gift bag which includes treats, emergency food, waste bags for when you are on walks, a toy, pet information and local dog park guide
- Dog bed if needed. Available for small and large dogs.
- Towels to dry your pet with after a play on the beach or walk in the rain.

Please note: that when you reserve online, you won’t be charged the pet fee until you actually check-in. The pet charge of $14 per night (Maximum of 2 pets per room) will be added to your bill and you will be entitled to the above pet friendly offer.
Pet Policy: Our pet friendly hotel service limits a maximum of two pets to a room. We carry no restriction on the size of pet. There is a pet charge of $14 per night, plus 12% HST. (Maximum of 2 pets per room), Dogs must be on a leash and under control whenever you have them out of the room. Your pet(s) is not to be left unattended in your room. You are responsible for any and all damages your pet may cause, and the associated repairs. You must take all reasonable measures to ensure that your pet(s) does not disturb other guests. You are responsible for any compensation the hotel will have to make to other guests as a result of noise complaints originating from your room. Our housekeeping staff will not clean your room while your pet is in attendance. Please contact the Front Desk to schedule a time when you and your pet(s)will be out of the room. Our housekeepers are available from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.daily. Should your pet(s) not be under control, you will be asked to remove your pet(s) from the property. Failure to comply may result in your eviction, without refund.
